Fox News ratings plummet as Americans’ education, IQs improve
MANHATTAN -- President Hillary Rodham Clinton’s education reforms are spelling big trouble for Fox News. According to the latest Nielsen ratings, the conservative opinion station has seen a massive drop in ratings since January when American IQs started skyrocketing.
Sean Hannity appears to be the biggest loser. On Tuesday night, his program drew three viewers: his mother, Charles Manson, and a man with severe arthritis who physically couldn't change the channel.
But is Americans' increasingly firm grasp on facts what's killing Fox News, or its sexist corporate culture? Some experts blame its shrinking viewership on Fox's pro-rapist affirmative action program - which emphasizes hiring and promoting white men accused of sexual harassment.
According to 538's master statistician Nate Silver, the phenomena might be related.
"Numerous sociological studies show that as people become more informed, intelligent, and knowledgeable, they are much more more likely to self-identify as 'militant feminists,'" said Silver. "So it's not surprising that as Americans become smarter, they're also becoming intolerant of people, work places, and media that categorically hate women, like Fox News."
People close to Fox's owner, Rupert Murdoch, say he's already planning to downsize. Going forward, Fox News content will mostly be produced and broadcast via Breitbart.com, where all shows are filmed by a recovering cocaine addict using an iPhone 5.
Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress are fuming over Fox's downfall. On Wednesday, GOP Leader Mitch McConnell insisting that Fox's no-pants dress code for women "is perfectly legal," vowing to defund "every single federal program" unless Clinton agreed to support his new illiteracy bill, "Make America Ignorant Again."
But the White House is holding firm. “An informed public is crucial to upholding the tenets of democracy,” President Clinton told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on Wednesday, who promises to place even greater emphasis on developing Americans' reading comprehension and critical thinking skills.
Fox News' Tucker Carlson released a blistering response to President Clinton, calling her, "A boner-killing witch who's trying to violate our free speach." [sic]
