Trump accuses Obama of repeatedly cheating on his wife, Melania
MOSCOW -- Failed presidential candidate Donald J. Trump took to Twitter Sunday morning to accuse former U.S. President Barack Obama of repeatedly cheating on Trump's wife, Melania.
"He tapp Melania! Tap! He tapped that!" [sic] said Trump in a series of Tweets that occasionally bore resemblance to the English language. "It's Nixonian!" he said.
Some critics wondered whether Trump "might be projecting his own misdeeds onto Barack Obama," according to the New Yorker's David Remnick and Evan Osnos.
"After all," wrote Remnick, "Barack Obama is married to Michelle Obama, not to Melania Trump. There's no evidence Barack has been in the same room as Melania, so it is unclear - both physically and conceptually - how Barack could ever have cheated on Melania," he said.
"Whereas there's lots of evidence that Trump has had extra-marital affairs whilst married to Melania," said Osnos. "It seems Trump is the 'habitual cheater."
Later on Sunday, Trump returned to Twitter to cast further aspersions on Obama, accusing him of wearing wigs, having small hands, engaging in tax fraud, and colluding with the Russians to steal the election from President Hillary Clinton, who won the election by 3 million votes last November.
