Mainstream media applauds Trump’s progress in learning to read
NEW YORK – Media outlets on all sides of the political spectrum have joined together in praise of Donald Trump, who has officially graduated to a second grade reading level thanks to strenuous English language tutoring he's receiving in Moscow.
Now able to read classics like Goodnight Moon and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Trump, who lost the election to President Hillary Rodham Clinton by 3 million votes, "could be shaping himself into a formidable candidate for the NY mayoral race next year," according to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman.
Concerns about Trump’s illiteracy surfaced in full force during his failed presidential campaign last year. Trump refused to use teleprompters and seemed incapable of writing a properly structured tweet, misspelling words ranging from “unprecedented” to “sad.”
In an interview on Fox and Friends, Trump, who called in from his Moscow hotel room, attributed his rapid rise in reading level to his being “a really, kind of, really smart guy, okay?” before demanding he receive the Nobel Prize for Literature.
