To show her appreciation, Clinton invites press to pajama party
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Clinton White House surprised the press today with an invitation to a pajama party later this week.
"You all work so hard to ensure a free and open discourse and to bring differing, but accurate, viewpoints to the American public," the invite said, according to New York Times reporter Alex Able. "Bring your PJs - we'll bring the pizza and booze!"
The wearer of the pajama ensemble best capturing ideals of free speech will win a White House mug. Fox News reporter Angela Evans was thrilled. "I have the perfect PJ set but haven't had the opportunity to wear it yet... That mug is mine!" She declined to disclose the ensemble for fear of being scooped.
Popular right-wing sources of fake news including The Daily Caller, Breitbart News, and InfoWars did not receive invitations. The Daily Caller fired back by postulating the press pajama party is a front for a mass assassination of the press by the Clinton administration. The theory received a "Pants on Fire" rating from PolitiFact.
The White House confirmed that there will be both pin the tail on the donkey and pin the trunk on the elephant party games, among others. "We want everyone to feel welcome," the invite said. The invitation currently has 52 "Yes," 4 "Maybe," and 0 "No" responses.
