Obama tries out for Golden State Warriors, makes team
OAKLAND –- The Golden State Warriors have announced that husband of Michelle Obama and former President of the United States Barack Obama will be the starting point guard for the Warriors in the 2017-2018 season. Coach Steve Kerr said that he has had his eye on Barack for a while, ever since viewing footage of him going toe-to-toe with personal aide and former Duke player Reggie Love.
“He’s a great defensive player, absolutely outstanding. One of the best I’ve seen, really,” Kerr said. “He’s a good shot, too, and a great planner, offensively. He really knows how to get the ball down the court and into the right hands.”
Obama, who has lately been spotted running wind sprints in a pair of Air Jordans at dusk at local parks around D.C., has been reported by aides to be in ecstasy over his new career.
“You know, I feel – and always have felt – this is my calling, this is what I’m supposed to be doing,” Obama said, adding that even running the United States of America could not prepare him for the difficulty of pre-season workouts.
Obama said he in no way expects his NBA career to conflict with his new day job, Supreme Court Justice.
