Hooters shuts down, saying "not enough misogynist customers”
ATLANTA -- The financial markets absorbed a shock Thursday morning with the announcement that Hooters - the country's largest chain of sexism-themed restaurants - is shutting down due to "plummeting rates of misogyny among American men," according to company spokesman Casey Affleck.
Affleck blamed the company's struggles on "the tough business climate that traditional male-owned businesses are facing now that we're in President Hillary Clinton's America," tracing Hooters' sudden downfall to the class action sexual harassment lawsuit brought by Gloria Allred that 11,000 waitresses have joined and vanishing demand for their product, a cultural trend towards humanizing attributed to Black Lives Matter.
But long time Hooters customer Larry Gilmore said he stopped going because he grew uncomfortable with the objectification of women like his daughter.
