Clinton's first day as President: Bill festoons residence with thousands of balloons
WASHINGTON, D.C. - This morning, President Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived for her first full day of work in the White House, only to be greeted with an unexpected surprise when First Gentleman Bill Clinton apparently prepared for her arrival by filling the Oval Office with hundreds of red balloons.
“It was all Joe Biden's idea,” Bill said, in the brief moments he could be torn away from his well-loved balloons.
Senior White House staffers said the President reacted with "sheer delight" before deciding to take her meetings in the East Wing, as the balloons were everywhere.
