Elizabeth Warren appointed Treasury Secretary
WASHINGTON D.C. - On Tuesday, President Hillary Clinton again made history by appointing populist liberal folk hero Senator Elizabeth Warren as Treasury Secretary. Warren is the first woman in American history to hold to hold that office.
Warren - who just last week was spotted picketing outside Goldman Sachs with a literal torch and pitchfork, demanding CEO Lloyd Blankfein’s head on one of the company’s famed Tiffany silver platters - sailed through Senate confirmation hearings as her Democratic colleagues praised her for standing up to the banking industry.
"The first thing I'm going to do is throw the book at Wall Street," Warren told cheering crowds on Capitol Hill.
Goldman Sachs is reportedly selling its own stock.
