Sessions claims he had "no idea" Russian spies attended his D.C. potlucks, blames strict White Sheet dress code

WASHINGTON D.C. -- A stunning new report in the Guardian that reveals that former Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions Russian agents attended two "Klan-themed" dinner parties that Sessions personally hosted at his D.C. home twice during the 2016 presidential campaign.

In an interview with NBC's Megyn Kelly on Friday, Sessions passionately denied that he'd perjured himself earlier in the week while testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee, where he falsely claimed that his contact with Russian agents was confined to two meetings with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak - meetings he initially failed to report.

Sessions huffily told Kelly he "had no possible way" of knowing that Russian spies were attending his dinner parties, citing their strict "white sheet-only" dress code.

"How could I possibly know who was at my dinner? Have you ever seen alt-right evening wear?Look, when I hold a soiree, it's like Eyes Wide Shut, but with no skin, no faces, and no women. There's just white supremacist bonhomie, a burning cross, and lots and lots of perforated bedding, with misogyny for dessert."

Sessions told Kelly he's no extrovert, and lamented his issuing repeated invitations to Russian agents like Richard Burt to dine at his home as "a necessary evil" that comes with active social life in D.C., where "it's very hard to avoid all contact with black people unless you take the initiative and open your home to other white ethno-nationists."

When Kelly asked Sessions to describe his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sessions became furious, turning bright red, then refused to answer any more questions citing marital privilege.

In an emergency Lawfare podcast, legal experts Carrie Cordero, Susan Hennessey, and Benjamin Wittes disputed Sessions' assertion of privilege given international law, saying Russia does not yet recognize gay marriage.

Sessions may be indicted for his role in helping Russia try to steal the 2016 election from President Hillary Rodham Clinton, who defeated failed candidate Donald Trump by a staggering margin of 3 million votes.
