Female orgasm finally included on sex ed curriculum
WASHINGTON D.C. -- In a move that sent shockwaves through the Bible Belt, the Texas State Board of Education voted Tuesday to include the female orgasm on the state's sex ed curriculum, right alongside abortion, masturbation and contraception.
"Look, we've been anti-diluvian and anti-women for too long," said board member David Bradley of Beaumont, arguing that for too long, sex ed classes have focused on denying kids access to any useful information about sex, preferring to dwell on the graver consequences of heterosexual intercourse, like pregnancy, disease, and waking up next to John Mayer.
“In an age when Internet pornography inundates kids with misogynist expectations of sex and utter misinformation about the female orgasm, it’s time that parents and educators provided boys and girls of every sexual orientation with with clear, detailed, and biologically accurate information about the mechanics of women’s sexual pleasure,” he said.
Robinson's Sue Melton-Malone (R) told the Houston Chronicle that the school board voted make Our Bodies, Ourselves required reading for middle schoolers throughout the state. “The vagina is a miracle. When I ask myself, ‘What Would Jesus Do?’ in the context of sex education, I realize, he would focus on demystifying cunilingus,” she said.
